Check out the 2023-24 Alameda Civil Grand Jury report on the OPD’s use, or lacking use, of technology. The report highlights the challenges of deploying technology in Oakland but also makes practical recommendations on next steps for the process of moving forward. The grand jury saw the use of technology as a ‘force multiplier’ and while there is cost consideration, it’s not the primary reason technology isn’t being put to use.
Fuck the OPD. Incompetent lazy dirtbags that continues their legacy of shame, dating back decades. Until they show some improvement, why would we give them any more money?
I'm certainly concerned about whether this plan for the Oakland Coliseum site that Oakland politicians are touting is actually realistic. Can this consortium afford to buy the site and where is the $5 billion coming from to develop it and does anyone want to live there except really low income people who can't afford what the housing is going to cost? Same old, same old. I think the city and the A's are going to continue to own the complex for a long time in the future.

Can y’all put a byline on your articles?
Apparently somebody who doesn’t want to claim ownership for a trail of horseshit
