I voted for Rowena Brown. Armstrong didn’t even make my top 5. After reading “The Riders Come Out at Night,” I don’t want a former police chief on the city council. I reluctantly voted to recall Thao (I don’t think recalls are democratic) but voted to keep DA Price. I’d like to see what she does with the rest of her term. I approve of her not charging children as adults.
The fact that Carroll Fife might lose shows that people in Oakland are really fed up, but I still don't believe that there are enough sensible people in District 3 who realize that conditions are really bad and could get worse. Also, I'll believe the Thao and Price recalls are real when I see the results. But the poll shows things are looking up.
Can you really be progressive if you aren't pro-building housing?
