This week Black Action Alliance and Empower Oakland are hosting the only mayoral debate ahead of the April 15 special election.
Unlike town halls and forums where candidates individually answer questions, this debate will have Loren Taylor and Barbara Lee side-by-side, directly engaging with one another on the critical issues facing our city. This is an opportunity to see their ideas challenged, clarified, and compared in real-time.
In addition to the debate, check out our list of other events and forums to hear from the candidates directly.

Come on Oakland. Let's get it together.
I think Barbara Lee is going to win and the city will have to declare bankruptcy about six months into her term. A receiver will be appointed to run the city and Barbara will complain the rest of her term that Oakland got a raw deal.
